At the National Junior & Youth Disability Championships in March 2014, two Warriors of Warrington swimmers competed against the country’s finest young disability swimmers in the 10-13 year age group and came away with an impressive total of 24 medals.

Where can I find out more about Disability Swimming and Warriors?

Warriors’ is a disability hub for the North West and we have successfully guided swimmers through the classification process.

Coral Farrell at the 29th IDM in Berlin

coral berlinCoral Farrell, a member of Warriors of Warrington Swimming Club, was selected by British Para-Swimming to join the squad of 24 Para swimmers representing Team GB at the recent 29th International German Swimming Championships of People with Disabilities (IDM) in Germany.

This was a huge honour for Coral and although she had previously been selected to swim for Team GB this was the first time she had competed outside of the UK. The IDM event was held in Berlin at the Europa Sportpark between the 16th and 19th of April 2015 with 42 nations competing; including USA, Australia and Russia.

Coral competed in eight events: 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m and 800m Freestyle, 50m & 200m Backstroke and 200m Individual Medley.  She achieved 6 personal bests and was placed 4th in both the 400m Freestyle and 50m Backstroke and 5th in the 200m Freestyle. Coral swam alongside the world’s elite disability swimmers including Eleanor Simmonds (GB), Jessica Long (USA), Federico Morlacchi (ITA) and Brenden Hall (AUS).

During the event 47 World records were broken, with Team GB contributing to six of these.
