Warriors awarded Top Visiting Club at Rotherham Meet

With over 60 swimmers competing, Warriors of Warrington secured the top spot at last weekend’s Rotherham Metro Summer Meet in Sheffield at the Ponds Forge International Sports Centre.
Of the 25 teams competing from across the country, Warriors led the race and received the ‘Top Visiting Club award.

With many swimmers achieving ‘personal best’ times, the team’s commitment motivation and camaraderie shone through: their team spirit inspiring their success.

Rokia Farag (age 9) won the ‘top girl’ accolade and came home with 6 golds, 6 silvers and 1 bronze while Joseph Ashley (age 10) achieved the ‘top boy’ award, winning golds, 8 silvers and 2 bronze medals.

First place, age group winners included Adam Albera, Rhys Croasdale, George Daintith, Millie Duncan, Tom Hilton, Gabriella Hunt, Jack Moss, Ben Rix, Abby Smeltzer, Isabella Thornton, Ava Vincent, Ronnie Weall and Sophie Weston.

Second place, age group winners included Ellie Basiursky, Owen Burgess, Payton Chesters, Natasha Gayter, Alex Rix and Ben Weall.

Third place, age group winners included Hannah Laughton, Jamie Lawler, Logan Mulhall-Reid and Matthew Warburton.

Many of the swimmers achieved ‘personal best’ times during the event. In addition several young swimmers achieved their first qualifying times for the Cheshire Club Championships, a major regional meet in the swimming calendar, early next year.
