Swim England NW Regional Championships 2020 – CANCELLED
17th March Update
SENW has taken the decision to cancel the forthcoming Regional Age and Youth Championships. The decision has been taken following the Government’s announcement to implement increased social distancing, avoid crowds gathering and carrying out unnecessary travel.
Cancelling events is not a decision to take lightly but following the latest announcement from the Government it is only right and fair to our clubs and members that we make this announcement.
We understand the frustration of those who have been training hard for our competitions, but the health and wellbeing of our athletes, coaches and volunteers is of paramount importance to us.
Information regarding refunds for entries and coaches passes will be communicated later this week once the process has been established.
We would like to apologise to everyone for any inconvenience and disappointment these cancellations may cause but hope you understand this decision has been taken out of our hands due to the unprecedented situation we are facing.

The Qualifying Window for the British Summer Championships and Home Nation summer meets in 2020 will run from Friday 13th March – Sunday 10th May 2020 (inclusive).
Swim England North West are pleased to announce that the SENW Summer Regionals for 2020 will be held as follows:
28th and 29th March 2020 – Manchester Aquatics Centre
25th and 26th April 2020 – Manchester Aquatics Centre
2nd and 3rd May 2020 – Liverpool Aquatics Centre
Following the launch of the Swim England North West website, the Region will continue to embrace the technology it can provide and entries for this event will continue to be submitted online, using the same system so many swimmers and teams have come accustomed to for entering National events.
Coaches Passes will need to be purchased via the online system. Please note individuals must have the following in order to purchase their coaches pass:
- Valid Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS)
- Valid Safeguarding Certificate
- Teaching/Coaching Qualification or a minimum of a Team Manager Module 1 qualification
