Paphos, Cyprus

On 15th – 22nd February, Warriors of Warrington Swimming club flew to Paphos for an intensive swim training camp. This is the first time Warriors has held a camp since 2016 and was therefore a new experience for many of our swimmers.

The camp saw 34 Warriors swimmers take up the opportunity to make memories for life, with swimmers completing over 22 hours of training in an outdoor 50m swimming pool at Geroskipou Sports Centre, Paphos, Cyprus.

This provided the swimmers with an experience not many swimmers have the opportunity to achieve in their swimmer career, swimming over 60km in a week! They also had the opportunity to train alongside many athletes from various European Countries and other British swimming clubs.

A big thank you is expressed to our excellent coaching team, Darren and Gatley along with the amazing support provided by all the chaperones, who without the trip could never have taken place. Our thanks is all passed onto all of our sponsors who assisted in making this achievable including David Wilson Homes, NMCN, Epic Kidz, Harrington Robinson, Fortem, Ashley Electric Zone along with Swimzi for a fantastic swim kit and Sports Abroad for organising the camp.

The camp was a real success with all swimmers coming back with valuable lessons to help them progress and be a more rounded and experienced swimmer. This has allowed us to look at arranging further overseas camps in the future for more of our swimmers who wish to attend.
